Why we're building Acyclic

We both graduated top 10% from Cambridge. Ram is a published ML researcher and Varun worked at the frontier of parallel programming languages. Then we both built multi-agent systems for enterprises: Ram as a Palantir FDE, shipping systems for clinical trial design, and Varun leading agent architecture at Tracelight for Big 4 accounting firms. We realised the agents were good enough to solve most use cases. So why couldn't we run thousands of them at once and make everything faster and cheaper? Acyclic is our answer.
Our thesis: agentic workflows should be realtime, no matter how complex the task. The bottleneck should be human ideation and design, whilst building happens at the speed of thought.
