Guide

Set up and run your first swarm

Six steps. A swarm splits your task across agents that work in parallel and hand back one patch.

37 seconds, with sound and captions: from install to an applied patch.
  1. 1. Install

Install the CLI from npm. It works on macOS and Linux.

    npm install -g @acyclic-labs/cli

No Node? Use the script instead:

    curl -fsSL https://acyclic.dev/install.sh | sh
  2. 2. Sign in

Your browser opens to approve this machine. You stay signed in for 90 days.

    acyclic swarm login --site https://acyclic.dev
  3. 3. Describe the task

In your project folder, say what you want in plain English. shows the agents working.

acyclic swarm run --dir . --watch --task "Fix the failing tests"
  4. 4. Answer its question

If it needs a decision, it asks you in the terminal. Pick an option or type a reply. It keeps working while you think.

  5. 5. Apply the patch

When it finishes, apply the changes, then review them and run your tests as usual.

    acyclic swarm pull <swarm-id> --apply
    git diff --cached
  6. 6. Check the dashboard

Every run, question and result is on your dashboard.

Or let your coding agent do it

After steps 1 and 2, ask Claude Code, Codex or Cursor in plain English:

Fix the failing tests with an acyclic swarm (see acyclic --help), then apply its patch and run the tests.
